ABOUT ME

Markus has worked in the film and commercial industry for over a decade. In this time he directed multiple award winning short films, produced 2 independent feature films and

co-created multiple award winning web series. As a commercial director he has brought over 30 TV and Online campaigns to life for brands ranging from Coca Cola to Unilever.

 

His 2015 St John Ambulance and Ford Blown Up campaign were in the in the running for several awards and both received 4 shiny Stars in Campaign Magazine. 

His latest short film ‘Anonymous’; about the gentrification of Soho through the eyes of an aging Drag Queen (Enzo Cilenti) was finalist for best short film at the academy qualifying Austin Film Festival, and East End Film Festival. It has also won best narrative short and best male lead at Frostbite and Cyprian International Film Festival last year.  

Him and BBC writer Mario Theodorou are also working on a feature length adaptation of ‘Anonymous’ as well as a mini series about the Class Struggle in South London where grime meets classical music.

His short film ‘Shelter’ a World War 2 drama starring Jack O’Connell, Michael Smiley and Ed Stoppard, was filmed on 35mm and has been screened in festivals around the U.K. and internationally. 

‘All Of Them’ a web series about the lonely dating live in London which he co-created with content production company G59TV, most recently won Lake View International Film Festival and is part of the official selection at the International Online Web Fest. ​
